Why Softail more expensive than Dyna

No offense, but were you two the same weight back then? I can't imagine suspension has gotten worse.

I came really close to buying an FXDX in 2005 when I ended up buying my Train. The Dyna Sport was a sharp-looking bike, but the Train looked better, and had forward controls which were far more comfortable for my 34" inseam.

Cool ain't cheap, and the Softails look cooler than the Dynas, even though the Dynas ride and handle better.

Simple.
If you really want to ride you buy a Dyna, if all you want to do is pose you buy a Softail. We all know it costs more to pose.

you might have a point....I don't see very many short people riding Dynas

Was just wondering if this, in reality, has more to do with age-related abdominal growth. ...speaking for myself of course.
