Default I Couldn't Believe My Eyes!!!

As I was coming home from work this afternoon around 2:15 and just getting on to the interstate, I looked in my reaview mirror and saw two bikes approaching. I thought it was good to see someone ridding since we have had rain for the past 5 - 6 days. I didn't ride to work because of the possibility of rain being 80%. The bike in the left lane (a three lane highway each side) had a blinking headlight (or at least that was what I thought). The closer he got, the more I thought he had a short in his headlight. As he got closer to me I realized he was doing wheelies. I had my cruise set at 75 mph and he passed me doing a wheelie!! He was ridding a Honda crouch rocket of some sort. The other biker was ridding the same and passed me, but was on two wheels. I guess I must be getting old, because I never saw anyone do a wheelie at 75 mph, drop the front end down, and pick it up again and travel for at least 1/4 mile at that speed. Was he crazy??? I believe he had one of two things, a lot of go-nads and a lot of stupid!

I see this kind of thing with crotch rockets all the time around here. Maybe not at that speed but it doesn't surprise me. Crotch rockets seem to have really caught on with a lot of young kids in the past few years. Never seen so many before. There are obvisously too many kids with a lot of dollars but no 'sense'.

See it all the time around here... Jeans, short sleeve t-shirt, sandles... Doing wheelies.

As long as they have their organ donor card filled out...

What's not to believe? They scrape them off the roadways around here with great regularity.

I see the same behavior from time to time, Nothing like doing a wheelie at 75+ without a helmet or jacket.

That's just plain stupid to not where your gear especially when you're riding like that. Everybody that I ride with wears full gear and let people hear it when they don't.

I'm not judging you guys, but I kind of laugh when I'm at a bar and a bunch of "Harley" guys are sitting around polishing off their pitchers talking about these dumb asses that do wheelies, and they all take off on their bikes many pitchers later. I don't have any friends that drink and ride on sportbikes. Atleast not that I ride with.

That being said, the kid in me likes to push the envelope some. I can ride a wheelie for a few miles. Pick it up at 75mph and slow down to 65......no speeding kids. GSXR 1000 unicycle.

Flame on.

Saw the same thing while I was going around the perimeter (Atlanta Beltway) in my truck once. About 8 kids on crotch rockets. Two of them were riding wheelies off & on. At times I was going 75... they were going faster than me, then they'd slow down for traffic & take off again.

I won't even ride my bike on the perimeter. Those who've travelled it would understand.

Well, as a good friend of mine used to say "Hell's only half full"!

Are you saying that they are going to hell for riding wheelies?
