checkout ultimaproducts.com they got 100% American Made power that destroys all 'genuineHD' bullshiit. they come 140hp stock (evo type) with 6 speed transmissions. since yer not paying for the HD shield they're also cheaper than 'genuineHD' bullshiit. if i go big twin its gonna be to a ultima like my uncles softtail that he dropped a 127ci into 3 years ago. we switch sometimes for my sportster an i'm in love with it. good luck your gonna get alotta leads from this thread no doubt.
The Ultima El Bruto 127" is their best motor but is NO WHERE NEAR 140 HP stock. Not even close. They are also not as reliable as the S&S who's 124" is the best overall motor for power with reliability. That is unless you can afford a Patrick's Racing motor. No tranny is even close to a Baker by the way. S&S with a Baker is a great set up.
dunno about that man, my unc got his motor dynotuned when he swapped out his 80ci and it was around 135hp. i got no hate for other brands of motor ( well i hate genuine HD bullshiit ) the ultima is all i've really been around, my uncle sez the reliability ??s are mythology to him. i've ridden it a bunch of times an its cool!! it hates low octane gas pretty good though.
Just dropped an Ultima 113 into my 87 Heritage. Had frame clearance issue on the left downtube that was solved with ball peen hammer and maul. Similar issue with the front header required a dimple. but.. 3000 miles into it and she runs like scalded dog.
I replaced the tranny with a 6 speed last summer along with everything else (primary, starter, clutch etc...) There is nothing original left in the drivetrain. Did all the work myself, with much help from this board and not only saved money, but bonded with my bike. (sounds weird but those who know, understand)
Got some good deals on ebay and was able to sell off the old parts pretty easily. Especially suprised at what the older evo engine parts bring.
All said and done, I am about $4500 into a new drivetrain that will cruise effortlessly at 80MPH and has been very reliable in the short time I've had it.
