Question Shifter Peg Replacement

I'm goin to replace the shifter peg with a custom one, how tough is it to unscrew the original peg? Do you use a pipe wrench, channel locks or vice grips? I see there is no nut on it. Do I need to be careful not to bend or break the shifter arm? Any tips or tricks would be appreciated.

I used some vice grips and it came off real easy.

I used channel locks....Took less than 5 minutes to remove old peg, take new one out of packaging, and install new peg.

+1 on the allen head bolt. May have a chrome cap in it. and don't forget the blue lioctite I did and had the peg fall off.

Lefty loosy the old peg. Righty tighty the new peg. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

Sorry, it's early and I haven't had my coffee yet.

Be careful only true H-D accessories, and work performed by a trained professional will not void your warranty.......

The stock rubber peg just unscrewed by hand. Obviously if I did not upgrade it I would have lost it on the road. The replacement Kury one has an allen head on it.

I used vice grips to get the stock rubber peg off.The new one has an allen bolt on the end. Then it has a cap that goes over the bolt head
