The leather though not the warmest, is great at keeping wind from coming through.
Just make sure U get one that fits right, enough room to move but not loose.
and yes MC jackets are called that for a reason..
got my HD leather jacket when the New style's came out and got it 60% off. heck of a deal...
I let hubby talk me into the FXRG when I bought Barney, thought he was nuts. It has enough vents that I have ridden it in a 90 degree day with no issues (till I stopped), has a liner that I wear when it is stop and go traffic and hot out. Without the liner if I remember to zip up the vents, I have stayed comfy on the 50 degree mornings.
I really thought it was crazy to spend that much but I am thinking it may have been a good idea.
But another point I was trying to make is look for a removable liner along with vents, allows it to be worn for more of the year.
I really like the leather jackets. I picked up an FXRG for far less that the MOCO wants...google craigs list, find one for sale close that you can meet the seller....

ha my motorcycle leather jacket has just started acting like a sail in the wind. I have lost 20 pounds since buying the jacket and it is a tad too big.
all of the above....plus a simple answer to your question....yes. when I wear my leather jacket I also pull my gloves up over the cuffs to prevent wind from going up the sleeves. gauntlet gloves work well for that too.
