One of the things our instructor told the class after we passed the Basic Rider Course was that we could now start perfecting our waves.
My Hubby has a Road Glide with cruise control so he can wave with either hand.
If they wave high shoot them one of the signs on the upper row. If they wave low you must shoot them a sign on the lower row. Please see link below for the appropriate biker sign diagram:

This may seem like stupid question, but I am new to motorcycle riding.
In your only other post, you say back after 3 decades. Which is it? Are you just starting, or did you ride 30 years ago? Not much has changed since then........ Wave if you want, or don't. I doubt the other biker will turn around and come after you either way. Unless it's one of those 1%ers that scared that other dude from the bar in the other thread...........
passed on ole guy today, and I'am 59, so that will tell ya He's really old..
Anyway i gave him the low wave and when he passed he had such a grip on the bars I don't think U could pry them off..He cocked his head sideways and gave me a sideways nod with what looked like a very painful looking grin with half of his mouth. At first I thought he was having a stroke. Told the wife I was almost sorry I waved to him..
