after 2 hours of the usual dealership games and tours and crap, the best i could get was 16,800 OTD. this is for a basic vivid black, no options bike with a sticker of 15,444. whats up with that? they did knock off the $1017 in dealer prep fees though. i had to walk away disappointed, i guess its another 2-3 hours at the next one now. i think the worst thing about owning a harley is buying one. what a PITA! i mean really, in this economy, they still want MSRP? its not like im buying a streetglide or anything. i want a nice dyna at a fair price. id have bought it at 15,444 OTD ,is that being unreasonable?
Actually, that is not a bad deal! Figure, 15,444.00 plus sales tax and registration fees would be right at 16,800. I don't think you're going to find a much better deal. Unless you wait for the 2010 models to hit the showroom, then maybe you'll get a better deal.
Not a bad deal if you ask me. I think you'll be looking at quite a few more 2 hours sessions of bull crap trying to find that dealer who will send you out the door at MSRP.
Well........hate to be the bearer of bad news............but 2009 is the LAST YEAR FOR THE LOW RIDER. They have been discontinued. Once they're gone......they're gone.
Maybe that's why they're not dealing. Anything in short supply and which can no longer be ordered will usually hold or even go up in value as supplies dwindle.
Just a thought. BTW, The Low Rider being totally discontinued and dropped from the Harley line up was confirmed by my local dealer today. Some of the 2010 model bikes will start hitting the showrooms in about 10 days or so.
alright, i guess i was mainly pissed at thier offer of 3300 for my 07 crotch rocket. i realize the market is bad, and jap bikes dont hold thier value like HD's and whatnot, but i though they could have budged a little on the trade to make a sale this morning. i was all ready to buy one today. oh well, i posted it on craigslist and ill see what happens. im sooooo ready to ride with you guys.

Have you searched for a ""like new"" used bike ? There are plenty of bikes that spend MOST of all there time sitting in a garage and not out on the roads. [ Just my 2 cents. ]
