No need for a lawyer here in Texas. There is not a jury in this state that would find you guilty of anything but using good judgment.
Damn, wish we could get away with that out here. Here in Kalifornia, an ******* can be trying to burglarize your house, fall through the skylight in the attempt, break his f'n neck, then sue YOU for his injuries. Ridiculous. If he does make it into your house without hurting himself and starts stealing your stuff, you can't shoot or stab him unless he's threatening YOU with deadly force. And if he pulls a knife and you shoot and kill him, you could still be charged with a crime because you didn't shoot to wound rather than kill (not that any reasonable jury would vote to convict). Do you believe that $#!T??
I had an alarm system on my old Valkyrie, I'm pretty sure it was Viper. It would go off even if the bike was moved a little (even pulling it up to sit on it). It also had a weight sensor below the seat. When it went off it was loud as hell and never gave false alarms. The Harley FOP is good, but I've heard of stories where guys bring a lift truck in, lower the lift, dump the bike over in it and drive off.
On the bright side if a bike does get stolen, you get a new bike to play with
If you don't buy the siren for the HD system, all it does is blink the lights and prevent the ignition from working. thieves can still pick the bike up and throw it in the back of a truck. without the siren, its like a deaf mute telling you the house is on fire.
Yeah. I think I'll be adding a siren and pager to the shopping cart. I also checked out what it takes to replace the ignition lock and fork lock. Ignition seems easy. Hopefully I can just give my key code to the parts dept and order that to install myself. Fork lock seems tougher since you have to remove the fork, which is no small task. Might need them to do that, which is a bummer. I wonder if it's even worth it to get the fork lock fixed since it sure didn't stop these guys.

I broke a fork lock on my wideglide. Replaced it myself. It was about a four hour job but I was winging most of it. The book wasn't as in depth as I wished it would have been.
