watch out for bike-jackers also, 3 guys ina truck beside you at a red lite, 2 in back of truck. 2 in back jump out , 1 knocks you off the bike, b4 it falls over the other guy jumps on and takes off, knock off guy jumps back in truck, they take off. this takes 5 seconds, your standing in the intersection wondering what happened. it happening alot in atlanta rt. now.
I wonder in this kind of case if you had the fob in your pocket and not attached to your key chain will the bike quit as soon as they try to drive it off?

nope, but once they shut if off, it won't restart.
Damn, wish we could get away with that out here. Here in Kalifornia, an ******* can be trying to burglarize your house, fall through the skylight in the attempt, break his f'n neck, then sue YOU for his injuries. Ridiculous. If he does make it into your house without hurting himself and starts stealing your stuff, you can't shoot or stab him unless he's threatening YOU with deadly force. And if he pulls a knife and you shoot and kill him, you could still be charged with a crime because you didn't shoot to wound rather than kill (not that any reasonable jury would vote to convict). Do you believe that $#!T??
That's really sad and something I will never accept. I would never live anywhere that I don't have the right to legally protect myself and my family by whatever means necessary. Thank God for the right to live in "Stand Your Ground" states.

Nope, the bike will keep running. You could only hope you were quick enough to hit the run switch as they toss you off the bike and you're far enough away it wouldn't restart. If I'm more than 8 feet my bike won't start. My instinct would be to go after the guy on the bike which means the fob would be in my pocket as I'm going towards the bike. That would be my luck he gets it started as I come after him.

+1 on that. Took my CHL in Feb and the Instructor said making the decision to use deadly force to defend yourself/loved ones or your property will cost a minimum of $30K in lawyer fees just to deal w/ the Grand Jury, etc. That's assuming you are no-billed. Price goes up if it's "iffy".

You could always turn off the bike, then throw the keys away while you settle things with the thieves.
Bike jackers? I hate that. must think about a defence. It can' t hurt the thief or the liberals will let him sue me. can't shoot him cause my hands are busy with the clutch and all. plus it isn't really life threatning. If you can't just blast off, shut off the engine and shift up to 3rd or 4th maybe slow down his get away and if the truck start to leave push him over and let his truck run over his head. that might work. I rode with a pack of thirty last week but you can't do that all the time. I rode through Detroit to day.

Yeah. I think I'll be adding a siren and pager to the shopping cart. I also checked out what it takes to replace the ignition lock and fork lock. Ignition seems easy. Hopefully I can just give my key code to the parts dept and order that to install myself. Fork lock seems tougher since you have to remove the fork, which is no small task. Might need them to do that, which is a bummer. I wonder if it's even worth it to get the fork lock fixed since it sure didn't stop these guys.
