I posted a while back about ECM troubles with my 06 EG. It's turned into a major ordeal, two ECM's a crank senser a idle air valve or something of the sort and now a engine temp sensor and the bike is still not right! I told them to keep it until it's right. I'm pissed now!
How hot is an Electraglide supposed to run and idle at? What temp? They said it's running in the low 300 degree range I told them I thought that was way to hot to keep it till it's right. They are calling the factory tomorrow. I just needed to vent. We have missed 5 rides because of this crap.
Wow dude, sorry to here about that. Your right "low 300 degrees" is way to hot. IMHO it should be about 250 unless it is REALLY HOT and you have been idling way to long. I don't know what could be causing that unless it isn't oiling right. Does the heat management system work? Are they sure it's that hot? Gauge maybe? I hope you get it/them sorted out soon. That is one sweet looking glide. Once it's fixed it will just be a painfull memory.
It's under warranty it's only 2 months or so old. I can't blow it they have it more then I do. The heat mngmt works that's why they have it, it has shut down on me a couple of times in light traffic.
Had a friend with the same symptom on a 2003 FLHTCUI. There was a faulty heat sensor and I believe a relay was faulty as well. HD had a service memo on this issue concerning that run of '03 Ultra's.......your SM might be able to check the archives on this bulletin........might cure your sick bike quickly.
Sorry to hear that you are still having problems. Thats a nice bike! I hope they get it fixed soon. It very well could be that it's not oiling properly. One guy I know had a problem with a damaged o-ring (or so he was told) and it caused his bike to over heat and poor engine performance. I don't remember the details but they finally fixed it, so hang in there. Keep us posted
Could always refer to your states lemmon laws and suggest they should just give you a replacement bike.
I tried that we don't have a lemon law for bikes in FL. They are supposed to call the factory tomorrow they say. I sure hope the factory has a fix soon and no damage has been done to the engine already.
