Okay, so I decided one day that I would really, really enjoy doing something other than riding Bi*#H. I went through the rider safety course, got my license, brought my new 883 home---where it has sat for the past three months.
I'm a certified diver, and can skipper a 40' sailing vessell, but EVERY time I get on my bike, I break out in a cold sweat, shake and just can't think straight.
Have received tons of advice: Sell it. If you're that afraid of it, get rid of it before you hurt/kill youself and "don't be a dope". Just get on it and ride. You're never going to be comfortable with it unless you take it off the stand.
Do you have a husband/boyfriend/girlfriend to ride with? You need a mentor that can help you through this. Nice easy back roads with frequent stops will make it worth while.
Ok, here goes. Sell it. If you're that afraid of it, get rid of it before you hurt/kill youself and "don't be a dope". Just get on it and ride. You're never going to be comfortable with it unless you drive the it!
I don't know what more you want. I would suggest you take the MSF course, but you already have. I would suggest you get on it and ride more, but you've already heard that.
Get out somewhere with it (even if you have to trailer it) and ride without any traffic for a couple of hours. Get a feel for the bike and how it handles. If after that you're still frightened to death, get rid of it! It's that simple.

So, would appreciate anyone's/everyone's advice.
Thank you.
Do you enjoy riding the bike? IF you don't, sell the bike. There is no need to prove to anyone. I too am a sailor and diver. I take sailing any day over riding.
