what is your wave?
A downward peace sign to other cruisers and a prissy regal wave to Wingers...just to let them know I recognized a difference as we pass.
I don't usually wave at crouch rockets. I pretend they don't exist. I would however stop and help any biker in distress.
I guess I'm the only Harley rider on this forum to not give a nod or wave to crotch rockets, but I don't care. It's my choice and yes I discriminate against them.
I think your neighbor is probably secretly attracted to you and wants a ride on the bike......JMO[8D]

But you are right on one point, and I have to commend you on this--I, as well, always stop if the vehicle has less than four wheels.
My choice not to wave at crotch rockets is a conscious decision to discriminate against a particular style of riding exhibited by the maority of the CR riders in my area. It's extrememely dangerous to everyone near and especially to themselves, it's unnecessary and is basically the wrong equipment in the wrong place (public highways). It also does nothing for public acceptance of the riding community. It's not the riders per sa but the style of riding on public highways. I don't wish any rider to go down... it's just here at the Tail of the Dragon you get to see so many being hauled away. It's truly tragic. So, I'll continue protest their presence by not waving. I also have a simular distain for the noisy little cars zooming through traffic as if they're in the movie "The Fast and The Furious".
Although I don't agree with your methods, I don't live in your area, and do not see the nutty stuff they do.
You are probably right though about being the wrong equipment for the place. As a former sport bike rider
I know first hand of what those bikes are capable of doing, and I don't think there are many if any roads that
can handle them to their potential...let alone the riders (why so many of them crash).
But the comment about the noisy little cars, have you ever thought about cars on the road that do not like the
loud pipes of some Harley zooming past?
I don't own one, but we should all try and think about the situations of others, it might just be a little nicer world
if we did.
I can remember a time, and still hear some complain about those Harley Riders, they think all are biker trash,
and bums.
But they just don't know, because of their hard headed opinions formed through their own personal prejudice.
