I've heard that there is some company that will take a set of those custom plugs and drill them for earbud speakers. I've been looking to find them but haven't had any luck.
There was a vendor at the 100 Years Of Motorcycles rally in Spokane this weekend selling fitted ear plugs. I had tried the little foam plugs and didn't like them so I decided to try these custom ones.
* * * The wind noise was just a gentle breeze sound but I couldn't tell what gear I was in because I couldn't hear the engine and if not for the tach I could have ridden in 3rd or 4th gear and not known it.
I use those for shooting, but not for riding because I can't hear anything. You can get them, or similar, with electronic plugs that will make quiet noises louder or normal and block loud ones, like a lot of shooters use, but you'd be paying a few hundred per ear.
