This weekend we did a ride with my cousin, he rides a 2003 Indian Chief Roadmaster. It's a pretty cool looking bike, really has the classic look thing going on and sounds amazing. Every time we stopped, people converged around him to check it out.

On the way home he asks if I want to ride it. Of course I do, so I did about 50 miles on it. To tell you the truth....I was not impressed. I figured for a bike that costs that much it'd ride a lot better. The biggest problem was I felt like I had to fight it in the corners, cruising wasn't too bad however. It was definitely a comfortable ride though. Could be I just wasn't used to it too. There's no Indian in my future, I can tell you that much.

Looks don't always mean great ride, still would like to ride one. I like the new Indian Chief Roadmaster but I would have to sell a kidney to get one sent to over here

Indian is a show bike, it is just like jewelry. If one really likes a good handling bike, one should ride a BMW.

I believe the bike you rode, and the current Indian as well, have a 34 degree fork rake. That's way too much for a bagger in my opinion, plus you're used to the tight steering of a Dyna (29 degree rake).
It's crazy how people are so impressed by nothing more than skirted fenders on a Harley clone. A few years back, a guy in a bar told me that the Gilroy Indians were made with the original blueprints from the Springfield days. I didn't bother to enlighten him.

The new Indian's have nothing to do with the last generation. When I saw them at the motorcycle show I liked a couple models, very expensive though.

Indian is expensive not because they are better. It is because they produce them in very inefficiently way - by hand. You pay for those.

They want ton for new one, and with no counterbalancers and a rigid mounted motor, that baby WILL vibrate. Recent report I read hammered them on that + cost.
