My great uncle had a big old Kawasaki with a fairing and bags back in the late 70's, he threw nothing more than a rug on the tank and his dog rode with him everywhere. I think it was a rat terrier if I remember right. That dog loved to ride, he rode here all the way from phoenix several times as well as about everywhere else in the US. The dog died of old age and so did my uncle, I have no idea how many thousands of miles they rode together.
