Just for grins I rented a bone stock 2009 Electra Glide and went on a 500 mile ride to see if I like them. My own bike is a 97 Dyne Wide Glide with a 120" Ultima motor. I hate to say this but that thing bored me to death. No guts, it felt sort of plastic-ish, could hardly hear it and my butt got just as sore as on my Dyna. To top it off at 6'2", my legs felt cramped the entire ride. I guess its on to test ride a Road King - hopefully that'll fit me better.
I'm NOT putting the Electra Glide down, it just wasn't for me. For you guys who swear by the Electra Glides, what do you do for alternate leg positions?

They stand up on the floor boards and dance the Macarena. Why else you think they put a stereo on it for?

I agree. I rented an Ultra Classic for my anniversary and took my wife on her first ever ride. Only went about 260 miles and my butt was actually numb on the stock seat. The wife was very comfy however. Very quite, so much so the world famous 5th gear whine was overwhelming. To top it off the signals and horn did not work (?) which added a little stress for the wife who was already scared stiff, but eventually got to the point where she could move her head around a little bit. I love my dyna, not quite ready yet for a windscreen, cupholder, or cruise control. A little more carrying capacity would be good though!

Road King is just an Electra Glide w/o a faring.
Baggers certainly are the trend now, but they aren't for everyone.
I traded in my Fatboy for an EGS in late May, riding it the first week while I waited for my essential just to get it rideable parts was almost excruciating. Stock was incredibly uncomfortable. I'm 6'2 as well and had to add 12" bagger apes, the kuryakin floorbaord extenders (out an inch and up an inch) plus a set of highway pegs set to rest the ***** of my feet on while my heels are on the boards. Now it is almost right. A bit of tweaking yet to do. Just rode 5500miles across Canada and then back across the US to Sturgis and then north home. I still miss my softail would love to have both, but I really dig the EGS. ANyway its a blank slate thats why I bought it.
÷1 on feeling cramped and I'm only 510. I made em throw in highway pegs just to ride it home. I will be getting the kuryakyn extensions. The heels on the boards and ***** of the feet on the highway pegs does the trick though. Otherwise, I love my EGC. Went for a ride the other day and almost didn't come home.
