First of all my white wall tyres,I clean these with ajax and a small hardbrush, ajax is a cream cleanser for worktops, sinks, fridges and contains less than 5% anionic surfactants, non -ionic surfactants, soap.parfum, limonene and amyl cinnamal.
they look good when done but will any harm come to them cleaning with this.
Also i clean my chrome with a product called autosol, chrome aluminium metal polish, ever heard of it? would you recommend it?
If you you have product you recomend can you let me now
I usually use the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Hell of a lot easier, no damage to the tires and makes the whitewalls white again. Best recommendation I can make.
Chrome is not that thick. Any cleaner that is the least bit abrasive I would use with great caution. You will find people on these forums that have polished away their chrome. I keep mine shinning with Windex.
HD sells a cleaner for tires and wheels.I bet you can get something at a local auto parts store also.I dont think I would use AJAX.
There is also the detailing forum here, you could do a search for your questions.
I would agree with Zombie about Magic Eraser for whitewalls - although I don't have them I know how well it cleans everything else around my home. What does everyone think about Windex for chrome?

I put a coat of polish 1st , buff it off then spray with windex to bring out the shine more ! It also takes any lint or dust off too !
I agree with a good coat of wax and buff and polish. I'm not that sold on windex. The chemicals in windex break down the coating from the polish or wax. When I wax my car I do the windows first before I wax so I get no overspray on the finish.
Whaap is correct. Any attempt to make chrome shine using anything even slightly abarasive will result in you polishing away the chrome. I used a product called simichrome cleaner and polish and after a while I noticed i had polished away the chrome. Had to have everything rechromed. Now I use windex on the chrome only...................BG
Thanks for your advice ,but what sort of wax would you use before using windex?
Also going to have a look to see if avalible in uk if not i will try to get some shipped over.
don't fancy having to have all chromed again .
