Thanks for all the suggestion so far. All I have done is clean and tighten my battery connections and it seems to be back to normal. Can some of this have been blamed on the altitude at which I was ridin yesterday> I don't usually ride at altitude as I lvie near the ocean.

I took it for an hour ride and it seems fine. I'll ride it some again later or tomorrow and report back. Once again, thanks for all the help so far and check your battery connections. The positive connection was loose enough that I could undo it with my fingers. Hmmmm....

No, it's not an uncommon problem, use blue lock tight on the nuts this will help and also some folks just don't tighten them enough or never check them, and sometimes I think the heating and cooling (metal expand/contract) can loosen them too, anytime you have your seat off it's always a good idea to check them, and at your regular maintenance intervals.

Anubis, I had a similar problem with My heritage, and it was the stator and voltage regulator.I took it to Venice custom cycles, that's just down the street from You.MIKE

Charging systems must have a proper and accurate load on the system in order for the voltage regulator to function correctly. For exmaple, if you have a shorted cell in the battery, the battery load will be innacurate and the charging system will deliver improper voltage based on this load. Same goes for loose terminals. It is likely the only issue you were having was the loose cables. It wouldn't be a bad idea since you had loose cables, to have the Battery load tested.

Glad you got the issue resolved..
