I had a 91 sporty I bought new. I put over 100,000 mi. on it and had no problems. It's not a touring bike. ( I did make two trips from Flordia to Sturgis on it.) but for a young man it would be a great first Harley.

Would not pay over $4000 for anything older than 2004 (rubber mount).

A well maintained EVO Sporty will run forever.

Absolutely nothing wrong with an EVO Sporty. The only real difference would be between rubber mount and rigid mount.

I just got back in the house after a little 80 mile run on my old '96 1200 Sporty. It only has around 70K mikes on the old Evo engine. Runs like a Bat out of HeII still.

I have 2 (Evo) Sporty's as you call them, they are good bikes.
