Default Heal Shifter

I have been dealing with this heal shifter dilema for awhile. I wear size 13 boots. I have moved my floor boards outward 3/4". My boot rests against the heel shifter and my toe catches the outside lower edge of the lowers when I have to move my foot. So my question is does anyone sell an after market extended heel shifter? It only needs to be about an inch longer. That way my foot has the full use of the floor board toward the rear of the bike. If I can't buy an after market one then I will cut the current one and weld a piece in there to lengthen it.

HD sells the swivel one, would that help? You can also get extended shifters from different vendors.

I know there are extended shifters out there....there is also the folding deal HD sell that allows you to fold the shifter peg back out of the way

I am not sure about a heel shifter extender but I also wear a size 13 and had never riden a bike with lowers before and then a friend asked me to ride his 03 anniversary ultra and two or three times I almost did not get my left foot of the floor board because I kept hitting the lower. It was quite annoying. I said I would never put lowers on for that reason. Sometime after 04 HD cut the lowers wider or more forward I suppose due to that complaint as the ultras I have sat on since do not have that problem. Good luck with the heel extension, you could always remove the heel shifter. I know its about 50/50 of people that use the heel shifter.

I have ez brake shift extenders and I set the rear one to just slightly higher than level with the floorboard. Works great.

I replaced mine with a 2 3/4" extended one from Bubba's Harley-Davidson Accessories http://www.bubbasbrake.com/xcart/pro...cat=252&page=1. It makes a hugh difference in comfort level as well as ease of shifting.

I did one better. I removed the heal shifter all together.
