hello i own 2 triumphs now and am going to take the plunge and buy my first harley. the two models that i am interested in are the street bob and wide glide. what i would lkike to know is what discounts, if any, are dealers offering now what is a good out the door price and are dealers willing to negotiate on accessories now any help would be appreciated
thanks
cw
Most dealers don't offer a lot discount wise unless you're in an area with multiple dealers. You're probably better off trying to work a deal on accessories, and go for a free first service! if you have to pay for the first one, they'll RAPE you...I had mine done a couple weeks ago and they charged me $435 FRIGGIN DOLLARS!!!!!!
different areas are a lot different on prices, My first service was $245, and thats the most they have ever charged me for any of the scheduled check ups..
I guess it does depend on the number of dealerships you have to chose from...There are probably 10 dealers within 30 miles here, so you can definitely play the game...
I agree. I have 4 dealerships in my area and called 3 of them. If the price isn't negotiable, financing and free dealer credit for service and parts is. I got 1.05% financing, which was a HD factory promotion at the time, plus $1500 in accessories from the dealership a year and a half ago on my Heritage and that was before HD was hurting.
Some people are negotiators and some people are not..
You just don't know what they will be willing to give you until you ask. I did get good deals on many accessories when I added them before delivery..
The dealers were spoiled for years, and many still haven't had to adjust to the new economy. I think I saw a sign at one of my local dealerships that said something to the effect that I was entering a "recession free zone". Most places still want MSRP, although I've talked with some friends who tell me some of the dealers in Idaho were discounting some of the touring bikes recently. Where are you located?
I wish I had kept my old Bonneville sometimes.
