To me a bike doesn't look right without leather saddlebags. I'm a bit odd though. The Iron Bags on the Deuce are large enough to hold my leather jacket and then-some. And if they are full they have cargo straps on the top of them the will hold our jackets so no problems there. Before the bags I have used bungee cords to strap my jacket to the handle bars this will work too.
The wife and I have traveled 1000's of miles with our jackets strapped on the tops of those bags. You just make sure that the selves and zippers are facing in and away you go. They were the best thing we have added to the Purple People Eater.
Fold and roll the jacket into a barrel shape. Lay it over the top of your headlight. Stretch a bungee underneath your headlight and over the jacket. Attach the hooks to the bars. You also might try crossing the bungees over the jacket depending on your setup. Like an earlier poster said, it also works as a little windshield.

Thats about the way I do it, but I do not use bungee. I have had them snap and give way .. The end knots have slipped through. I use good quality twine or small rope, or straps (shortened tie down, or ratchet straps).
How do you guys secure your jacket when riding your bikes? It's the middle of summer and during the day its hot and I'd rather not ride with my jacket on. I just bungee it to the back of my bike. What do you do? I sometimes ride two up and it's not comfortable(for my girlfriend) to sit on my jacket. By the way I don't have saddle bags. What about your cellphone and wallet? What do you guys do with them?
I got the solution to your question...SADDLEBAGS! See pic below.
