Do you have a power commander? weak battery and that combo won't start,,, also did you get a code as previously mentioned code would be good to start with? Could be a bad crank sensor is my guess, along with a few other things, as said start with the battery make sure the connections are clean and tight, fully charge the battery as said and go from there, one other thing is the motor stock or has there been motor work done?
I highly recommend you spend $50/60 buck for a shop manual for your bike, with a multi meter and a few basic hand tools and a little mechanical knowledge you can do the routine maintenance as well as trouble shoot your bike, best accessory a fellow can buy for his bike IMHO. Good luck with it and let us know of your progress.
Do you smell gas when the fuel pump ramps up? Almost like the EFI is flooding the bike? I had this problem earlier this summer and it ended up being the engine temperature sensor that was bad.
Well she's at the dealer now and I will have an answer in another day or so. As for flammables at the fire station I'm sure the guys would have to laugh alittle and take a pic before they put me out so I'll abstain from that. I'm guessing it's a sensor I have a manual at home and have been reading up. Seems there are two or three that can go bad and create that sort of problem. Namely the MAP and the CKP both are listed in the troubleshooting section.
Thanks again for the advice and help, sometimes learning is a painful and costly adventure.
