Yes it is wrong, I do not approve of leaving the scene, but I understand why.
Even sober, accidents happen. Then the biker community scream "Hang em" Murder" Then some of these people get charged with manslaughter...agh.. I feel sorry for the bikers. The over reaction of some state attorneys and the biker community bring on some of this.
If a person simply could not see you, is sober, not doing anything irresponsible (painting nails) it shouldnt warrant a prison term.
We dont know the specifics on this accident yet, so how can we say what really happened?
I know someone who lost a wife, hit by a drunk driver (asst cheif of police) and the guy whos wife died got a DUI also and both of them are getting charged with her death. Even though it is proven the cop (off duty) ran a stop sign. The accident was not the guy with the dead wifes fault. Was not speeding, in his own lane, did nothing else wrong. But he may go to prison because a drunk off duty cop ran a stop sign.
Remember when you drink and drive, you don't have to do anything wrong, someone hits you it instantly becomes your fault too.
The DUI thing is just that though. He was driving under the influence and was involved in an accident where someone was killed, regardless if the accident was his fault or not.
I certainly don't appreciate people putting my life at risk for their own fun and pleasure.
Motorcycle accidents happen. Not to be rude, but what do we gain by talking about everyone we read about?
Awareness is gained. There's nothing better than a motorcyclist that knows what to look out for in idiots. In addition, the outside chance that someone on this site knows something about the hit-and-runner is above value.
