just go to your local work wear place (Work Warehouse or whatever) and get a set of rain pants and a jacket; good enough for construction guys working all day every day in torrential rain; good enough for me........its what I've always done. Its usually tough, durable, waterproof stuff that you can get for a tiny fraction of the cost of any motorcycle specific items - Especially anything from HD!!! I live in Vancouver so I KNOW what riding in the rain is about....honestly you dont need to spend a ton of dough to stay dry and for the love of g*d don't go wasting your money on something just because it has HD stencilled on it somewhere.
Frog toggs leak. You will not stay dry if you stay in the rain for any length of time.
I've have very good luck with Frogg Toggs keeping me dry. I've been on tours where I was in them all day moving from light to heavy rain and back again. I stayed very dry. The key for me has been to take the time to button up good. Zip the jacket, and then button the buttons to keep the fly covered over the zipper. Put up the hood and tie the drawstring; then put your helmet on over the hood.
My only gripe about Frogg Toggs and most rainsuits for that matter is that they are made for average height people. At 6'3" when you sit on the bike, the rain pant legs ride up exposing the bottom of your jeans. HD's rain gaiters solve that problem for me.
I use a pair of wind pants that I bought for skiing, and a wind breaker jacket, I think I bought it from overstock.com or some other place like that, I do have the Harley boot gaters, they all work just great for me.
I also have a suit that is made just like the frog toggs, don't remember what they are called, anyway my son had to wear them this summer and they worked great, don't know why the frog toggs wouldnt work.
I do know what does not work though, my son, the one who used the other set of rain gear bought a jogging suit from walmart quite proud of it, but I guess they never anticipated any one jogging at 70, it was funny when it came apart though.

Does anyone know which pants are really easy to get into? The pants I have are great but they are a pain to get in and out of unless I take my boots off, which I would rather not do in the rain.
I am very curious what the sizes mean. I am an average sized man that is 5'9". So is it a medium or large? I am prettty sure extra large will be to big. But I to am interested in a nice set of rain gear.
I have the H-D High Visibility suit. I'm 6'2", 190 pounds, 34" inseam. I wear a large, but.....I'd be hard pressed to get this suit on over bulky winter stuff. I've got Gerbings overpants for cold wet weather, and I'm betting I can get the rain jacket over my FXRG jacket with the Gerbings liner.

can't speak about the other brands, but with tourmaster, you buy the size you always wear. if you wear large, buy large, etc. the raingear (in your normal size) is designed to fit over leathers so you don't have to worry about trying to go a size larger. just buy the size you normally buy.
