exhaust leaks?

I used a couple of folded up towels. Seemed like i was stopping them up as much as possible?

It's a 95 fuel injected with a stage 1 kit

I had a cracked rear header the the king, but even with a 2 inch crack I am sure stopping up the exhaust would have caused the engine to stall.

There will be some good pressure when trying to plug that exhaust. Have never killed a large engine by plugging the exhaust but I guess is possible and a good way to make leaks that were not originaly there. And as mentioned if is plugged and running you will, not may but will hear it leaking out someplace, unless deaf. So when plugged inspect the area the sound is coming from.
Not saying creating more pressure in exhaust system isn't a good way to find leaks but fully plugging them to kill engine isn't recomended.
