1st my wife's 06 low rider and now my new to me 07 Ultra. Oil leaks!!! I thought Harley's were no longer leakers of oil!
When I bought the low rider I didn't buy any warranty and then several dollars later after fixing the shift shaft seal and break switch I said I wouldn't do that again. I just bought an 07 Ultra (8900 miles) and in the garage today was a puddle of oil underneath it.
What gives, I am real disappointed in Harley quality. Back in 1996 I bought a 1984 Honda V45 Magna and never had an oil leak. In fact, I have never had an oil leak on a motorcycle except for these two HDs. If I am going to chase oil leaks for the all of eternity then I might be switching to VTX's and a Goldwing.
50,000 miles on a 03 Heritage classic and it doesn't leak or burn oil. 30,00 miles on a 98 Wideglide and I just replaced the old two piece paper rocker box gasket and rocker cover gaskets that just started leaking oil. Developed a leak --got fixed. Couldn't give me a VTX or a Goldwing even if it never leaked oil.

24k on my 07 and she has never dropped a leak..
When U buy used U sometimes or just dont know how or what she's been through..
Nor do we know what or how U treat her..
99% of the new owners never have a problem so U having two that do leak makes me wonder????
Are U riding her enough? she might be just be pi$$ed sitting there...or are U hard on them...??? Just asking
My first was a 70 AMF I got in 71 and if she didn't have a 10 inch puddle of oil every night under her it was because she was out of oil...
I'm with ya Bro, I just had a flat tire on my Custom, damn Harleys'. I had a Yamaha back in 1972, never, ever, once had a flat. I would go with the GoldWing.
