I'd call the MOCO and maybe even the BBB. The guy was an azzhole.
I am ashamed...I was born in Riverhead...
also from LI port jefferson move to nc
I got my bike from a dealer 75 miles away i have 2 dealers 40miles closer, I know they take my money in a heartbeat, I work for a bike shop in nassau cty way back 75'-83' we take any bike in expect a harley lol
I read all of these dealer horror stories on here. Some are expectational fault and some are miscommunication. This is a rogue dealer that shouldn't have a franchise. Moco should pull his franchise if this is a standard business practice for that dealership. I am lucky. I have a local dealership that completes most of the time and whose service department is fairly competent. They will still work on evo and twin cam engines. I have an Indy who has forgot more than most learn. With one of the most reasonable price structures I have seen in a long time. He will help you work on your own bike or he will do the work on your bike.

Reason: spelling --working nights and still trying to wake up
Ive Bought My Bikes from NewRochell HD and there 50 miles from me. Danbury HD is the close to me 15 miles away but they treat me like a 16 year old won't even give you a price. Reggie Pinks in White Plains is 30 miles from me Just never bought from them but I will give them my busness as they worked on My 09 Tri Glide no problem good people at Reggie Pinks. Jayson,Chuck, and Ray.Bought a lot of parts at and will get my next Bike there at Reggie Pinks . Back to New Rochell HD you can deal with them will beat any price out there. The owner Jack breaks his AZZ there 7 days a week. The sales manger John and Jimmy V all good to buy from. The guy in long Island Eastern Harley Davidson Don't want to work for yours or anyones Busness. So F___K em. For Me it's Reggie Pinks HD in White Plains NY or New Rochell HD
He is an idiot and is turning away business. Even if you bought your bike elsewhere, your money still would support his business. You also have friends who might be interested in buying a bike and will ask your opinion. Pretty clear that you will be telling them where not to go - more business lost. Some potential lifetime customers that he will never have. I think that, despite him calling you names and insulting you he is the one that deserves some name calling and his business will eventually reflect his attitude.
My house is about halfway between NewRoc and Reggie Pink. I go to both places, although I have to say the service department at Reggie Pink is just outstanding, and the facility is the best I have seen. I didn't buy my bike from either dealer, but every time I've been in, at both places, people have bent over backwards to be accomodating and helpful. I think we're lucky to have two top-notch dealers in this area. I can't imagine anyone who wants to stay in business acting like that guy did. He must be under a lot of pressure, or else he's just not made of the right stuff for retail work.
NewRoc has great hours, btw. They're open on Sundays and late on Thursdays. I was there two Sundays ago for one of their Sunday gathering things. Free hot dogs and hamburgers and sodas and so forth. The store fully staffed and helpful people all over the place. The owner was working the crowd, and someone told me he is at every event, out there talking to people etc. That's the way to build a business.
