Cutting Windshields

I'm wanting to get a windvest for my bike (08 FXSTC) but just do not have the cash right now. I have the chance to get a fairly cheap windshield and am going to do it....was just wondering how hard it is to cut it down to the size I prefer. I'm not just talking bout the top but cutting the sides as well.....any ideas??

I have cut several down useing a band saw with a fine tooth blade works really good . After i cut it down i sand the edges with 100 grit down to 600 grit then polish the edge with plexi glass polish . Tape both sides of the shield where you are going to cut mark the top side take it slow you should have no problems .

I just did mine with a blade I bought from TAP Plastics and a saber saw. Traced the shape I wanted, put masking tape on the windshield, marked it, cut it sanded (all as described above). Worked great.
