Cutting down a windshield
I need to cut down my windshield were should I bring it to get done.I know I can do it myself but would rather not mess up a 300.00 dollar investment.
I don't know of any place that does it. I did mine on my band saw in about 3 minutes. Draw the line, cut it then sand it with progressively finer sandpapper until smooth. The hardest part is drawing the new profile that you want. There are many here on this forum that have done their own. I am sure someone else will offer suggestions. Good Luck.
I posted the full details last yr, so a search will find it..
short version...
tape off, layout the cut, I used a roto-zip and it cut the shield very easy...Practice in the scrap area of the shield first as the cutter will pull away from the rotation of the cut. And hold roto-zip solid in hands.
file off edges, MAKE sure U tape both sides and leave it on while filing... Dont ask me why...

I cut my own down after reading a few threads on here. I was also scared, but it turned out pretty good and I'm probably the only one that will ever be able to tell. Worst case, you have to buy another piece of plastic, which I think you can get for less than $100
Here is a complete set of instructions on the how to. http://www.motorcyclecruiser.com/tec...eld/index.html
Not a bad job at all. I've done it a couple of times with really good results.
