So I've decided the next step on my Harley powered roadster should be to get the mechanical stuff in order. I bought what I guess you call a crate twin cam B, a 2006 engine so I need all the electrical stuff. I have an S&S carburetor, but nothing else. I've been looking on ebay and now that you all helped me identify the exact engine I have I can look more seriously.
Here is what I think I need.
coil and plug wires
ignition system
charging system and relay (my dad said he thought 35 amp would be enough for the roadster but I've seen them that go as high as 45 amps
The REWACO conversion kit has everything to connect up to the VW flywheel and use the VW starter.
Am I missing anything? Are there brands I should stay away from? Any help would greatly be appreciated.
Thanks, Voltage regulator - I knew that, but for got to include it. I think I also need some sort os crank or cam sensor for the timing, right? There's a hole in the block (plugged) behind the oil filter, I think that's what goes there.
