I like the wick socks, pulls the wet away from your feet. And Wal-Mart sells good boots for under $60.

I don't do much riding when the mercury gets below 40. But I pretty much just wear my boots and wool socks.

Your problem is probably from lack of circulation, which will cause cold feet and hands. Make sure, like someone else said, you have some "wiggle room". Air is one of the best insulators. Get yourself a set of good insulated boots. You can find good insulated, waterproof, boots at Cabelas for under 100 bucks. Anywhere from 200 grams to 1200 grams of insulation. Just wear a normal pair of socks with them. And, DO NOT TIE THEM TOO TIGHT!! Tighten them up if you're walking, but loosen them up a bit when stationary or on the bike. You'll be amazed at the difference.

Thanks for the advise. I'll go to Cabela's for some good boots and wool hunting socks. From what you guys are saying, sound like heated gear is a waste of time and money.
