HD could stop pissing off SERT ownersif theye'd just develope software to allow the dealer to reset the dongle if you buy a new bike.
I'm sorry, there I go trying to use common sense.
I ain't no putter genyus, but my wife has a couple of programs for her embroidery machines that require security dongles. She has aquired copies of these programs that bypass the dongle. I would think that the SERT program has to poll the HD dongle for the proper VIN match. It may be possible to hack the software to accept a mismatch. Just a thought, Like I said, I ain't a smart man.
Took the sert off my bike, got everything to go with it. Would be willing to sell it if somebody cracked the code and is interested. Only run it for a few months. Its set up for a 07 Fxdwg, fat cat 2 into 1 pipes, Se high flow air kit.Sert was dyno tuned at the H-D dealer.
There isrumor that someone has found out a way to reset the code which I believe is stored in the dongle, but I've never actually seen any proof that it exists. I'm certain the software could behacked to ignore the dongle, but I don't know of too many software hackers that ride Harleys. I think most people hack software because it's both a hobby to them and they "generally" couldn't afford to purchase all of the software they consume. I figure most people that let go of that much cash for a Harley probably don't fit into the same crowd. Does seem a bit foolish that it can only ever be used on one bike though.
