Wearing a harley t-shirt when not riding to me is no different than wearing a football jersey when you don't play foot ball, or a rodeo buckle when you don't rodeo. Too much fashion police. Hell, I might wear my vest to the movies tonight!
The only thing that gets me more than folks who walk around wearing lots of Harley paraphernalia, whether they actually own and ride one or not (ie: posers) is the number of Harley riders that spend so much time pissing and moaning about it. They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Take the compliment for what it is and go ride!!
I used my Harley bucks from the use of the Harley credit card. It was my retirement gift to myself. Never bought anything like that for myself thought I was due!
Poor OP, he asked if anybody had one or collected them, all he got was the fashion police. Personally, not for me, unless when I was at the curb, GW riders came by, kneeled and kissed the ring. If that was the case I would definitely pick one up solely for the entertainment value. Hey OP, I've seen the rings, they're nice if you like that sort of thing, don't let these guys sway you, stand tall, your opinion is the only one that should count to you, unless of course, you're married, then you should know you have no opinion at all.
It's like their whole identity is their motorcycle. Hmmm....sounds to me like the definition of a true biker.
.
no its not. i totally agree with KRS. a true biker, rides for his own enjoyment. not because he needs to advertise to everyone what he is. people that walk around in all the harley gear, arent extending their personality. they have no personality, so they mask it with a product.
this goes for any hobby that anyone has. i train MMA, but i dont walk around in MMA shirts everywhere i go. in hopes that some numpty will come and ask me if i train, and if i fight. it really reminds me of newfies up here. they drive around with a sticker, that is the outline of their province, in the back window. they do this, just so some other grade 8 educated loser, will come ask them what town theyre from, and if they know joe or bob. its just silly.

Hah! I had a friend give me a t-shirt that says "MIT" on it. Whenever I wear it, at least one person asks me if I really went to MIT (I didn't.) But whenever I wear my t-shirt that says "Red Sox" on it, nobody ever asks me if I played pro ball... go figure.

It's dangerous to assign motives to other people. Since you have no knowledge of the facts, your analysis says more about you than about them.
Personally, I have an ancient Harley jacket that I've been wearing for years. I wear it 'cause I like it. I don't care if anyone around me doesn't like it. I've looked at the owner rings and I like them too. If I ever get one (unlikely,) I'm not going to be asking anyone for permission to own it or wear it.
