He didn't say. He did say it was nothing to be concerned about. Maybe I have a valve seal that's not seated properly...
Pull your plugs see if one or both are real black/wet and sooty. The 05's had a problem with valve guide seals allowing oil past the valve stems into the cylinders, thus "using oil". I will agree with the low oil level and oil starvation to a lifter, the valve was affected and then you sensed a different noise and power shortfall. I would check the oil level a little more often particularly before a long trip and when you get gas, at least when its put away for the night.
