Default Well...it finally happened!

I dropped my bike yesterday! Pretty stupid, actually. I was riding with a group of friends and we had stopped to take a break while up on the BRP. Pulled in, toggled the "kill" switch, hooked the jiffy stand with the heel of my boot and rotated it out away from the bike - except it never locked. Stepped off the bike and "OH, SHI$$, WTFMFGD...!!!" I caught as much of it as I could. It leaned to the left right onto a buddy's new Ultra with me inbetween. Luckily, (and believe it or not) no damage was done to either bike. The Windvest on the Deuce contacted the saddlebag guard on the Ultra and cushioned the force. I could only hold it where it was while friends ran over and helped me lift it back upright. Man, was I shook!

Lesson learned. I hope that this is my drop in the "there are two kinds of people - those who have dropped their bikes and those that will!"

Good that no damage occurred. My drop occurred the first day I had my AIH Outlaw. So excited to get it I rode it around the subdivision then up the drive, turn-around, and just out of the garage to take copious pics. Well, seems in my haste to get the camera I left it in neutral (driveway slopes). Hear this scraping noise about when I was at the inside door and see it sliding down the drive. Managed to get my left leg under it as it went over. Broken mirror and scratched tank graphic (chamleon paint too). But AIH guys were nice enough to repaint (and new mirror) at their cost.

I realize that it is going to happen sooner or later, but at least you were lucky this time and it didn't hit the ground.

Glad you, and both bikes had no damage.
I did a slow moton drop on my deuce a couple years back, tried to stop downhill and front tire went in a pot hole full of gravel. What a sick feeling! Lucky for me I had a Lindy bar.

Haven't dropped my (YET).........but had an almost a couple of weeks back. Thought I would go to a High School parking lot and just practice some slow manuevers and hard breaking.

Well, did a hard brake, came to a stop but leaned the bike to the left and Damn........started going over. I don't know how I saved it being only 5'7" tall about 175lbs, but I fought it and got it upright. Phewwww.........damn thing is really heavy when it starts to lean that far over.

Me and a buddy were talking about this the other day. I said "l'll never do that. I always look at the kick stand before I get up." Well guess what happened the next day. I didn't look and down we went. I put a scratch on the mirror and on my knee. Other than that, the only thing hurt was my pride.....

I've dropped my bikes in the past and I know it'll happen again. I just hope it's no time soon. My biggest fear is missing the jiffy stand so I am paranoid at this point and haven't missed it yet.
