If I buy a SERT, Stage 1 breather and a set of rhinehart exhaust and have the dealer Dyno it after install will this help my bike ruun any cooler? I had the heat mngmt kick in again tonight and start idling down and running poor in about 5 minutes of traffic it sure gets old when this happens. Thanks for the input.
This bike has had all sorts of things done by the dealer to try and make it run better. It's got the new 25 degre inj's with the new down load and several other parts have been changed to try and make it run better and cooler. I thought it was fixed until tonight. I told the wife if this will help I'm going to get it done. I just dont want to spend that money and still have it run hot. THe dealer said it should run cooler and it will do away with the heat mngmt system with the SERT.
I'd say your suggested mods will help your heat problem. I added a TFI and didn't tell my wife (I don't tell her everything!). First ride we took after the TFI install she commented about the lack of heat and we didn't have any traffic stops, just two lane riding.
Grunt is right, it's running a bit lean now but that's what keeps the EPA happy. I'd rather keep my wife happy.
If my own experience means anything, then yes, it will.
I added an oil cooler as well as new slipons and a PCIII recently. I have yet to see any sign of it going into Heat Management since, and I am riding places in temps I would've had all sorts of problems with it overheating in the past. The slipons and PCIII made a greater improvement than the cooler, IMO.......and this was with the addition of vented lowers on my RK at the same time.
The only mod that cooled mine down was an OIL COOLER
Is probably the best mod you can install for heat. I agree with the others, the bike is probably a little lean from the factory, lean means heat and, to an extent, power. (The heat and complete cumbustion of the available fuel, not the lack thereof) Make sure you stress to the dyno tech that your first concern is for proper air/fuel ratio. This should be a given, but things a best understood when they are talked about and not just "understood."
