Default Fatboy from Canada

A buddy of mine as a chance to buy a 05 fatboy from a private seller in Canada at a great price. What would he need to do to bring the bike to the US? Any import taxes. As anyone done this before or heard of someone doing this? Any help you could give he can use.

He'd better be getting a smokin' deal on it, and he'll not want to be paying any additional $$$ to get it on the road back home, 'cause our dollar is within 10ish % of yours now.
The purchasing power you enjoyed up here not long ago is all but gone. The prices for new Harleys here have dropped, putting pressure on used prices, but they're still too high to make it worth it to you to come up and buy one here given the state of your dollar.
I'd venture a guess that this Canadian Fatboy needs to have a pricetag in $CDN pretty darn close to one you'd see on a comparable FB stateside ($USD) to be a real deal.

The price is US dollars $5,500 and the seller was going to pay for insurance and shipping to the US. The bike is loaded with lots of extras, the bike has 8,200 miles.

Scam for sure. Price is insanely too low and also the seller is shipping it. Maybe would of been different if he would go to Canada and pick it up. DO NOT DO IT.

We did a little research and found another Fatboy in Indy that had a lot of custom parts for around the same price. A price that looks to good to be true. The funny thing is he emailed the guy and the guy emailed him right back, guess that is how you run a good scam.
