Default Thanks!

As a new member on this site, I have used the search option many times.

Because of all the help and advise I have gotten we just installed a new panacea Kuyakyn tail light and new saddlebags over the weekend. It took maybe 10 mins on the light ( part of the time looking for a screw that was lost) and about 20 mins to install the saddlebags ( again looking for hardware)

My hubby is super handy but for some reason we always paid to get stuff done on our bikes, but frankly we are tired of getting ripped off. So He said a few months ago " Go get all the stuff you want and we are going to install it ourselves" I was able to download instructions and get advise and in the end we did great.

Side note, Two years ago I paid someone over $200.00 to basically do the same thing on my old bike, so you guys just saved me $$$$.

Good deal! Assuming you are riding a HD...get a shop manual for your bike and save a lot more.

The 2 best things you and do/get for you bike is an HD service manual and a good jack. They will both pay for themselves in no time.

I actually do have a service manual. We already change our own oil, check all fluids ect. But we are now getting interested in custom features that are not going to be in the service manual. At first we always kept everything stock ( except for chrome) but we are finding more custom stuff that just makes our bikes better and more to our liking.

So to date, we have done the tail light and saddlebag mods on my Dyna, added a bagger brace on his Road King and the super brace on my Dyna. I am sure there will be many more.

Torque wrench isn't a must but I like them because sometimes I have a tendency to overtighten bolts and spark plugs.

Actually, using the shop manual takes some insight. You might also try taking a hit of acid before reading into it. That will help make things much clearer. 8-)

Yeah I have noticed, that a much need portion of the instructions always seems missing. Never tried acid, but maybe that is what they were taking when they wrote the manual
