Not sure how I slipped into your list here, but I have to say I agree with you about a good talking to. Spankings are a last resort to me. And it's only through talking that I can teach the why's and why-not's. And that's just as important to learn as well.

ORIGINAL: Finalcut

OK : ) here we go in reply to jburtonpdx, bay13, Coaster, ******, & EasternSP ...
First off, I did not complain. So bay13, if you thinks I do protest to much, think again. I did not complain - I said I found it funny, and I still do. No complaints here, I'm here to have a little fun - not get worked up. So me thinks you are misunderstanding were I'm comin from bub.

Second - I didn't leave a troll statement without back-up. I recall saying that if he was such a great dad, his kid probably wouldn't have made what sounds to be an above average mess. All kids make messes, but it sounds like this kid was way overboard.... A troll statement usually involves a sales pitch, and I've nothing to sell - shucks!

I do however understand what ****** is saying, and agree with him a little there ( except for the reasoning part ).... I'm all for disciplining the kids - even in public. In fact, when I see a kid acting up in public and not being dealt with it makes me want to spank the kid - AND the parent my self.
I'm a dad of three teens - and they all got lots of spankings growing up, followed up with a good talk ( sorry ****** ). I'm a firm believer in parents having - and exercising - their right, and duty to dish out spankings when needed - without being persecuted by the nuts on the left.
So, I agree with you guys for the most part. In fact, I feel bad for the children who grow up with parents who don't care enough about them to get off their A$$e$ and discipline them.... Those people should not be allowed to have kids, and don't deserve them.

My initial statement was never one that displayed any disagreement with punishing the kids when they need it. It was about how some of you are so quick to form an opinion about anything based on so little information. I will repeat, so no-one else missquotes my position in future posts here. It's about how some of you are so quick to form an opinion about anything based on so little information.

So having said all of that, I still think it's funny how some of you jumped to the conclusion that that guy was a great dad just by a five second snap-shot at the grocery store just because he spanked his kid so put that in your pipes and smoke it.

In the supermarket biz, It's refered to By the employees as," A Beat Down". It happens quite often. Usually around the first of the month.
