Harldy ever expect to get a discount but usually ask. In Europe and Asia they'll usually spot you 10% on T-Shirts! I decided a long long time ago to get life membership so I don't worry about renewal fees. Some dealers offer discounts only if you're a member of the local HOG.
I would personaly think out of respect to the customer, ( thats us ) who just paid $20,000 plus for a new bike , the dealer would appriciate our buiness in a manner of BETTER parts and accesory discounts ???
I,ve seen my local dealer offer me and other buyers who just forked out a big wad of cash to by a new Harley a measly 10 % off parts etc...
Then advertise to anyone in general to get 15% to 20 % off on a coupon or ???
Just figure hed want the new bike owner to kep comming back to buy more parts and ad on,s for there ride ???? And to keep them happy ..
What was I thinking ?????
Most dealers around these parts require you to join THEIR individual chapter to get the discount. I've been through other states where you get it as long as you're a national member.
To the best of my knowledge, HOG does NOT condone giving discounts for membership. In fact, they pretty much discourage the idea. Some Dealers chose to extend that discount, but it is NOT guaranteed by your National HOG membership. They want members to join for the activities, and not just the discount. Having said all that, i am sure it depends on the dealer as to whether or not they allow combining discounts. My guess would be....they will only let you use 1
The local dealer here, it's not the National HOG, you haveto be a member of the Local Chapter. Still 10%? Rather order online and get 20%.
Looks like this is a "by dealer" hit or miss. In our area, I get 10% off for being retired USAF. IMO, get better discounts from online suppliers - unless you need an original HD part/item.
there are very few places that will give a discount on top of a discount. i wouldn't be surprised that they didn't, i would be extremely surprised if they did.
you know, i love getting discounts as much as the next guy, but the 'i just spent $xxx on a bike, you should at least give me a discount' posts crack me up. IF you're dealer gives you anything, you should be grateful for it. i spent %50,000 on a cadillac, the dealer doesn't give me a discount on anything, didn't give me anything free when i bought it.... so why should the dealer that sold you a bike that costs less than half that give away the store?
