When I bought my first Harley, I received a complimentary membership to HOG. One of the benefits is 10% off parts, accessories and clothing at HD stores. Of course I renew every year.
Lately I have been seeing ads for various dealers offering 10% off .....
One day it would be T-Shirts
anything Chrome.
Helmets
Leather
or whatever.
So I go to get my 10% off and then show them my HOG card for an additional 10% off and they tell me "No, only one discount."
To the best of my knowledge, HOG does NOT condone giving discounts for membership. In fact, they pretty much discourage the idea. Some Dealers chose to extend that discount, but it is NOT guaranteed by your National HOG membership. They want members to join for the activities, and not just the discount. Having said all that, i am sure it depends on the dealer as to whether or not they allow combining discounts. My guess would be....they will only let you use 1

none of the dealers aroung here give a hog discount unless it's their "HOG DAY". I shop on line and save more on everything and buy t shirts and chrome at big rallies and events.
I haven't seen any hog discounts around my area either. It is pretty common for places that offer a discount not to allow them to be combined with other offers. I think Chicago Harley or the the others offering 20% are the best deals running. None of the 3 dealers I have purchased expensive items from had them in stock and had to order them anyway.

In Atlanta it's pretty common that the local dealers offer 15% or 20% off on a fairly regular basis. It's got to the point that if I don't have to have something right away i'll wait for the next discount weekend. I have a couple of similar discount cards from the local dealers and no, they wont give a discount on top of a discount.

Sorry you're tweaked at not getting double-discounts. I guess the first question is, "Why do you expct discounts to begin with?" Second: "What's wrong with the dealer making a profit so they can (a) stay in business; (b) employ members of the community (multiplying wealth) and (c) be there when you need parts or service?"
In light of the numbers of dealers who have folded in the past year, I'm glad to have 2 within an hour of where I live. They're financially hurting, & I don't mind easing their pain as they multiply my enjoyment of my EGC.
