First car was a 1964 Lincoln Continental pd. $85 the next a 1963 Chev Impala with a 283 & 3 sp. pd. $65. That was my first hot rod pulled the 283 and in went a B&B 350HP 327 with roller rockers, Offy flat top intake 650 Holly, Hurst Vgate 4sp. and a 12 bolt posi.
'66 GTO in 1976 for $600. Car needed a safety inspection but needed tires to pass. I got a part time job at Pizza Hut and my Pop loaned me the money for tires. He did that for me a lot, loaning me money if I showed him I was a good credit risk. All the way to loaning the equity he had on a house I bought from him, better interest rates than the banks but better than he could get in a savings account if i paid me outright. He taught me well.
