Actually sometimes it's the money you have for the ride. I was jealous of my buddies riding harleys until I could come up with the funds to get what I really wanted. So it wasn't BS when I was jealous.

It's the 21st century. Not everything is made in the US of A anymore. Get used to the fact that most things are either made, have components made in, or are assembled overseas.
LOL, first of all, considering all things, who would be surprised? But the info from Doc kinda blows a hole in the 'chinese crank' theory, now doesn't it?

But based on some of your posts, it almost sounds like some of you don't care where your parts come from. Sooooo........you'd buy a Harley built in China?
Kinda sounds like it. First trinkets and doodads for our bikes were built in China. Then it became more substantial parts. Hmmmmm....now, maybe even some internal parts, and its ok? Yep, imho, thats the kind of attitude that will say its ok when the first 'all Chinese' Harley is put on the market, certainly, at a cheaper price. Wonder if it'll go 'wing ding ding'....lol

Being in deniale can trick the mind resulting in not thinking clearly when in reality you know you really want what you don't have or can't afford so you save for year's sell the rice burner and then buy a what you really wanted all along, a Harley!

Ya know, I don't care for the fact that so much manufacturing is going overseas, but it is becoming a global environment. That being said, if my Road King was built in China and performed, looked and had the longevity it has today, I'd buy it. I'm an old school HD diehard and understand the American made loyalty, but as the company changes, so do I. It's all part of life. Look at electronics, I probably wouldn't buy a TV or stereo made in the states.

Ok, let the flaming begin, let's start with the union guys bashing for not supporting the American workforce and explaining why we should spend more of our money to support them. It's all a matter of changing with the times.

No bashing from this direction. But changing with the times in this direction means nothing good for the US. I'm just glad I have mine with as minimal foreign parts as it has. To each his own, but the eventuality of this all coming back to burn everyone is all too real.

Ride safe...
