While we were certainly lucky with a lot of warm weather late in to the riding season this year, cooler temps have moved in to the South and here in Tennessee. So as a result in the weather change and the local Deer population coming in to rut they are on the move..so be extra careful. In a 100 mile trip I counted four dead Deer all hit and sleeping in the ditch..I have read lots of post on the forum with accidents, and close calls..so Please watch out..
Man I did not gotten my deer this year before I went in for surgery but I sure as hell tried to help out with this road hazard!!!! In south Texas its them damn wild pigs that will jump out and get ya!!
Just seen this and it supprised me....
Over 1.5 million accidents a yr and over 1 billion $$$$ in damage each yr caused by Deers.
With 150 being fatal..
Dead deer all over the sides of roads around here. The rut usually peaks around Nov 15th but could run a little longer here now due the warmer weather. I've taken a couple already this season and promise to take a couple more. Just doing my part.
Bucks will run the does all night long into the morning during the rut. If your on a road with a fast lane and a slow lane, try to stay in the fast lane so you have more time (about an extra second)to react if one does happen to come out of nowhere. Just be a little extra alert this time of year. A deer can mess up yer day.
