Default flat!

Never thought i'd be using the H.O.G. roadside assistance deal already.....took the bike to work and at lunch noticed a flat rear tire. Upon inspection i find a large, rusty nail...and i was really lookin' fprward to the ride home! Called the number and they sent a flatbed large enough to carry 2 F150's on, and 2 old guys waving rusty chains and hooks....ouch! Towed it 15 miles to the shop i bought it from...less than 2 months ago..and guess how much the tow came to...about 100 bucks.. the amount H.O.G. covers. New tire and tube { it's a 2006 Bob} and labor...294 bucks and a day not riding.....and next week is my 230 dollar 1000 mile service. These bikes can suck the $ right outta yer wallet! ...or should i say "these dealers"....gotta stock up on Torx bits and do this stuff myself,i guess.

$300 for a new rear tire? Damn they really can stick it to you when you are SOL like that!

Will HOG take you to anyplace, or does it have to be a HD dealership?

Gotta be an H.D. dealership...since it's a clean puncturei thought, maybe just a new tube, but they say the tire has to be replaced.I guess better to err on the side of safety....

Musta been Flat Tire Day yesterday. At least mine was caught in my driveway. But I'll be expecting about the same cost (only shop anywhere close is HD dealership - and not the good one).

...maybe I should install magnetic dingleballs.

Not so, Road America delivered my bike to my house. I removed my wheel and carried it in to the dealer. New tire $99 mount balance $35 and I carried it home. Oh I forgot 6% sales tax on the tire.

Did you upgrade to the 180 kit? That'd be the only good thing out of it I guess. Waiting on the stock rear one to need to be replaced on mine before I get the bigger tire

Sounds like you got raped on that tire change. I have paid anywhere from $150 to $260 at different dealers. Some do a good job others sctratch the rims and hubs. There should be a flat rate (no pun intended) for all dealers so you know what to expect to pay.
