Chaps Question
I recently was given a set of chaps gift. I like them and they are insulated, however they leave black marks all over the pipes on my dyna.My old ones did not,does anyone know howto treat the leather so it doesnt do this, tips or tricks? It looks like just residuale dye coming off.

run em through the washer a couple of times with minimal soap. let them air dry
Done this with a couple leather jackets came out great. I prefer the weathered look anyway over nice shiny black. A front loader washer works better. Or just ride em in the rain a few times

As I work with leather every day I have to ask if you are burning them on the pipes? Some types of leather will bleed from sweating or moisture from the way that they are tanned.But I would not think that to be the case this time of the year..If you are looking for some nice leather products here is some good stuff..http://www.skidmores.com/products.asp?cat=11
