George - After reading both threads, neither of them appear to be telling the whole story. From what I can gather, your entire reason for being pissed off is that AMC wouldn't take your girlfriends bike in trade.
I don't think your anger should have anything to do with the promo or that AMC told you they don't take trades (even when they had used bikes in inventory).
I think your pissed your girlfriend made a poor decision by still going through with the deal on the new bike. Now you're trying to drag a dealership through the mud to relieve your anger.
Let me ask you this. When you walked into the front door of that dealership, how many Sportsters did you walk past? I'm guessing it was no less than 10. This is a small dealership. Stevie Wonder could see why they wouldn't want another Sportster in inventory.
