I just got off the phone with second level customer NO service at Harley, I have been trying to get them to stand behind what they print.
It says Buy a New 09' Sportster Motorcycle now, and the price you pay is what you'll get back when you trade in. GUARANTEED
The problem is the word Guaranteed, they don't know what that means. To Harley it's just fluff, it's not real. It means nothing!
In other words they are standing behind AMC HARLEY DAVIDSON ALBANY OR. AMC told them, that when we went down to trade in my girlfriends Sportster on the new 2010 Street Glide. That we didn't present the sportster as a trade in, funny she rode that back braker down from Portland to make the trade.
I'm a Life HOG member, I have been riding Harleys for 40 years.
It was a better company when it was owned by AMF!

Always wondered if this program worked as smooth as it sounds like it should. Some of the questions in my mind, were related to the way the Sportster was titled (owned) and the way you wanted the new bike titled? Example: Sportster in my name and wanting the new bike in wife or girlfriend's name does that nulify the deal?
If I'm not being too nosy, is that the type of complication you're having?
I'm thinking there's more to this story than is being told. Lots of folks have taken advantage of the program.
A MOCO rep wasn't standing next to you in the dealership were they? So what are they supposed to do? Did the dealer just backout on the trade in deal or was there ever an agreement before you went down. Is that program subject to dealer participation?
Too many unanswered questions to just start badmouthing Harley.

The deal is: If you purchased the Sportster during the program and decide to trade it for the next model year motorcycle the dealership should offer you MSRP (not including freight/set up/any extras or taxes)
Yes, the motorcycle must have been purchased and titled in the person's name purchasing the new motorcycle.

No she bought the Sportster her self on 7/19 during the promo, and was trading it in to buy the new bike in her name.

No ther was no MOCO standing there, she didn't want to buy from one of the big city dealers because they were selling the same bike for $2k over MSRP. She rode the sportster to the dealer shop to make the trade, they flat out didn't want it. Other then having 600 miles on it, it looked like the one on the floor.
Is that program subject to dealer participation? Yes and they were signed up for the promo.

There are only 2 threads started by me, and I won't be starting anymore!
My whole idea was to maybe get someone at AMC to read one of these and see what this is getting them. I know they don't care, and I know that after she picks up her new windshield and warranty card we will never go back.
