OK, so they have to have the FOB to get the bike running, also the steering locks. but I have no alarm such as a siren.
I plan on doing some long rides this year on my bike, and the likely hood is i will be travelling alone. When staying at motels, how do you get any sleep with your bike unguarded outside, most likely in a place where you cannot see it? do you have and trust the loud alarms to alert you if anyone touches your bike? or do you talk the people at the front desk into letting you park it where they can see it and watch over it somewhat?
I guess this is really my biggest fear, i check in to a motel for a night to get some sleep, i get up and go out and my bike is gone and more than likely in a thousand little peices being sold for parts. anyone else worry about this, or had troubles of this kind?
Don't have much experience with that stuff, but if your bars aren't too wide, park it inside. On the other hand, a good log chain can't hurt. Seriously tho, stop at respectable motels to save your sanity, whats a few more bucks for peace of mind?
The longest trip I have made was from Yuma to Burlington, IA. Stayed in motels and I was able to park my scoot near the front door along with my buddies. The bottom line is you can do all the bells and whistles and park in all the good spots but a determined and experienced thief will get it if they want it. Have a good trip!
Hotels are the Biggest Insider Theft problems anywhere. Cheap Labor ,Disclaimer signs, and Out of Towner's are just a to easy.
Unless your Going to go the Chain it to a LampPost method . I always Suggest get a Security system ( no Siren ) with a Pager system . This way You know it's going off and they Don't. if you go with a Siren they will just keep setting it off until they notice you no longer pay attention to it.
Yeah, id be staying atsomeplace like Comfort inn or Super8 or something along those lines, i guess I am just super paranoid. i just kind of wondered if there was other like me.
hmm, alarm with a pager call, now thats an idea, they wouldnt have no clue you was on your way out.
I take the shield, backrest and other detachables off....You can get another bike, but try riding without your gear....And as posted above good insurance ====s a good night sleep..
